WHAT IS THE YOUTH FAMILY FAITH FORMATION ADVENTURE?

Our youth program is not just another religious education program, rather it is an educational adventure into the Christian way of life for our youth, parents, and guardians. Think about those 12 famous followers of Jesus known as apostles. Who were they? What purpose were they called to by the Lord? What was their relationship to Jesus? The Gospels tell us that he chose to spend most of his time with this small band of friends. This makes them the original "small group" in which learning takes on a special character.

Jesus knew that he was sent into the world by his heavenly Father to proclaim Good News to everyone and he knew he needed to surround himself with others to show them how they could play an important role in this mission. Jesus was a mentor, a friend, and a leader for these apostles. Since Catholic Christianity is above all, a way of life there are people in every parish who because they are following “The Way”, they can show others how to do this.

Individuals like Fr. Francis and our Director of Youth and Young Adult, Lynn Grant-Yingling, along with team members are doing their best to "lead the way". Jesus had the calling to personally care for and spiritually guide his closest followers so they could do the same with others. History reflects that this approach produced many disciples, this is why he has called us to "go therefore and make disciples of all peoples." (Matthew 28:19)

YOUTH FAITH FORMATION is for middle and high school, children and teens who desire to join the Catholic faith, baptized (candidate) or unbaptized (catechumen). We invite our parent(s)/guardian(s) to join us for an opportunity to learn how to lead their child(ren) in deepening their faith and experiencing encounters within the riches of the Church in a way that they can understand, grow, and apply beyond the boundaries of our parish. “Family catechisms precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith.” (CCC2226)
