What does the Bible have to say about money?
Financial Peace University is a biblically-based accountability class
that teaches parishioners and their family members and neighbors to manage
their resources in a godly manner.
God has given us more than 800 scriptures showing us how to handle
money His way! Here are a few of the many verses you can find on the
subject of finances.
Scripture References:
Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one
and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the
other. You cannot serve both God and money."
Luke 8:14 - "...but as they go on their way they are choked by life's
worries, riches and pleasures..."
Proverbs 22:7 - "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is
servant to the lender."
Romans 13:8 - "Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who
loves another has fulfilled the law."
Proverbs 21:20 - "In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and
oil, but a foolish man devours all he has."
Proverbs 21:5 - "The plan of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but
those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty."
Proverbs 13:11 - "Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money
little by little makes it grow."
Luke 14:28-30 - For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not
sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it,
lest, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish it,
all who see it begin to mock him, saying 'This man began to build and was
not able to finish'."
